TERMS & CONDITIONS

    Prices include:

    • Collision Damage Waiver (CDW)
    • Theft Protection (TP)
    • 24-hour Roadside Assistance
    • Unlimited mileage for rentals of 3 days or more (valid in Portugal)
      • For 1-day rentals: 250 km
      • For 2-day rentals: 500 km
    • VAT at the current legal rate.

    Driver’s Age:

    • Between 24 and 75 years.
    • Young Driver Fee (ages 21 to 23 inclusive): €5 per day, up to a maximum of €50.
      Vehicles cannot be rented by drivers under 21 years old or with less than one year of driving experience.

    Required Documents:

    • Passport or Identity Card (valid)
    • Valid driving licence in Portugal (valid and with at least one year of driving experience)
      (Driving experience of at least one year, applicable to all drivers)
    • Credit card in the name of the reservation holder.
      • Accepted credit cards: MasterCard or Visa
        Note: We do not accept American Express cards, virtual credit cards, cards presented via mobile applications, prepaid or top-up cards (Revolut, among others).

    Reservations:

    • Must be made at least two (02) days in advance.

    Payments:

    • Payment is made at the time of vehicle delivery, which can be done in cash or by credit card.
      Accepted credit cards: MasterCard or Visa
      Note: We do not accept American Express cards, virtual credit cards, cards presented via mobile applications, prepaid or top-up cards (Revolut, among others).

    Deposit:

    • ANARENT CARS, LDA. reserves the right to request a security deposit at any time during the rental, with the amount varying according to the vehicle group rented.

    CDW (Collision Damage Waiver):

    • In the event of damage or accidents with the rented vehicle, the maximum amount payable will be up to the deductible limit stipulated in the rental contract (which varies depending on the group). This coverage is valid provided that all the terms of the contract are adhered to.
      All drivers must comply with the terms of the rental agreement.
      This protection applies to all drivers authorised in the rental contract.

    SCDW (Super Collision Damage Waiver):

    • If you purchase Super Collision Damage Waiver (SCDW) before picking up the car, we will reduce the driver’s liability in the event that the rental car is damaged. It limits the driver’s legal obligation to pay for the repair or replacement of the car, subject to the terms of the rental agreement.
      We will eliminate your responsibility for:

      • Damage fees to the external components of the rental vehicle, including:

        • Bodywork;

        • Undercarriage;

        • Roof.

    • The SCDW does not eliminate responsibility for:
      • Windscreens, windows, rear glass, interior mirrors, and exterior mirrors;

      • Wheels, tires, rims, locks.

        Negligence is not covered by the insurance.

        Coverage is valid if the terms of the rental agreement are met. Instead of covering the full cost, the driver is responsible for the first portion, known as the “excess” (variable depending on the group).

        This protection applies to all drivers authorized in the rental agreement.

    SCDW Plus (Super Collision Damage Waiver Plus):

    • If you purchase the SCDW Plus insurance before collecting the car, we will eliminate your liability for:

      • Charges for damage to the external components of the rental vehicle, including:

        • Bodywork, roof, underside;
        • Windscreen, windows, rear windows, interior mirrors, and exterior rear-view mirrors;
        • Wheels, tires, rims, engine, clutch, battery, locks.
          Negligence is not covered by insurance.

          If you purchase our SCDW Plus insurance, upon collecting the vehicle, ANARENT CARS, LDA. will block your credit card for a deposit covering fuel, vehicle cleaning, and tolls.

          This protection applies to all drivers authorised in the rental agreement.

    None of our insurances eliminates liability in relation to:

    • Unauthorised repairs, roadside assistance or other non-approved services;
    • Cleaning fees or damage to the interior of the vehicle (except when caused by a collision);
    • Personal belongings, damage/loss of child seats, GPS devices, and other “extra” equipment;
    • Vehicle keys;
    • Refuelling errors;
    • Off-road driving;
    • Damage caused by trees or bushes due to negligent driving;
    • Accidents resulting from negligence.

    PAI (Personal Accident Insurance):

    • In case of an accident, it covers both driver and passenger.
      • Maximum amounts:
        €1 500,00 in case of illness or hospitalization;
        €15 000,00 in case of death or disability.
        This coverage is only valid if you adhere to the terms of the rental agreement.

    In case of an accident, contact ANARENT CARS, LDA and the police, and you must present the police report.

    – Rental Policies:

    Fuel policy:
    The car must be returned with the same fuel level as when it was collected, as mentioned in the rental agreement. All our cars use Petrol 95/98 (E5/E10).

    Cancellation policy:
    – Cancellation up to 48 hours before the rental start: no fee will be charged.
    – Cancellations within 48 hours of the rental start: deposit is non-refundable.
    – Please notify us in advance.

    No show:
    When the Customer does not collect the vehicle and the reservation is not cancelled in advance, the deposit will not be refunded.

    Extra cleaning of the vehicle:
    The vehicle must be returned clean. If the interior is sandy, muddy, dirty, stained, or smells of tobacco or other substances, a fee of €30.00 (maximum €150.00) will be charged (Tobacco €150.00).

    Motorway:
    Our cars are equipped with transponder. If you wish to use toll roads or car parks with this payment system, you must request this device at a daily cost of €1.85 (maximum of €18.50). Tolls and parking fees will be charged to your credit card later. If you do not request the device and use toll roads or car parks with this payment system, a €18.50 fee will be charged to activate the device, plus the cost of tolls and parking fees.

    Reservation Deposit:
    A deposit of 15% of the rental price will be required for reservations.
