TERMS & CONDITIONS

Prices include:

  • Collision Damage Waiver (CDW)
  • Theft Protection (TP)
  • 24-hour Roadside Assistance
  • Unlimited kilometers from 3 days or more (Valid in Portugal)
    (For all rentals: 1 day – 250km; 2 days – 500km)
  • VAT at the legal rate in force.

Age:

  • Between the ages of 24 and 75.
    Young driver fee (Ages 21 to 23 inclusive) – Fee of €5 per day, up to a maximum of €50.
    It is not possible to hire a car to drivers under 21 years of age.

Documents required:

  • Passport or Identity Card (Within the validity period)
  • Driving license valid in Portugal (Within the validity period)
    (Driving experience of at least one year, applicable to all drivers)
  • Credit card in the name of the booking holder.

Bookings:

  • Must be made at least two (02) days in advance.

Payments:

  • Payment must be made upon delivery of the vehicle and may be cash or credit card.
    Accepted credit cards: MasterCard or Visa
    Please note: American Express cards, virtual, prepaid or charge credit cards will not be accepted.

Deposit:

  • ANARENT CARS, LDA. reserves the right at any time of the rental to request a guarantee deposit, the value of which varies depending on the group of the rented vehicle

CDW (Collision Damage Waiver):

  • If the car suffers any damage/accident, the maximum payable will be the repair amount up to the exess limit (variable depending on the group) of the Collision Damage Coverage (CDW). Coverage valid if you comply with the terms of the rental agreement.
    All drivers must respect the terms of the rental agreement.

    Note: It does not cover off-road driving, any towing or off-road assistance, object(s) left inside the car (e.g. baby seats, GPS devices, personal belongings or others).


    Cover valid if the vehicle is driven by the rental agreement holder (main driver) or any additional driver mentioned in the rental agreement.

    This protection applies to all drivers authorised on the rental agreement.
    If the car is driven by someone not mentioned in the rental agreement, the main driver will be responsible for the payment of all damages incurred.


SCDW (Super Collision Damage Waiver):

  • If you take out Super Collision Damage Waiver (SCDW) insurance before picking up the car, we will reduce the driver’s liability in the event that the rental car is damaged. It limits the driver’s legal obligation to pay for the repair or replacement of the car, subject to the terms of the rental agreement.
    We will eliminate your liability for:
    – Charges for damage to external or mechanical components of the hire, including:
    Bodywork, roof, underbody;
    Engine, clutch, battery.
  • SCDW insurance does not eliminate liability in respect of:
    – Repairs, roadside assistance or other unapproved service;
    – Cleaning fees or damage to the interior of the car (unless caused by a collision);
    – Damage/loss of child seats, GPS devices and other “extra” equipment;
    – Windscreen, windows, rear view mirrors, interior mirrors and exterior mirrors;
    – Wheels, tyres, rims, locks;
    – Vehicle keys;
    – Fuel error;
    – Damage caused by trees or bushes due to negligent driving;
    – Accidents due to negligence.

    Negligence is not covered by insurance.

    All drivers must complt whit the terms of the rental agreement.
    Instead of the full cost, the driver is responsible for the first portion, known as the “Excess” (variable depending on the group).

    Note: Does not cover any towing or off-road assistance, object(s) left inside the car (e. g. baby seats, GPS devices, personal belongings or others).

    Coverage valid if the vehicle is driven by the rental agreement holder (main driver) or any additional driver mentioned in the rental agreement.

    SCDW insurance is valid if you respect all the conditions mentioned on the back of the rental agreement.

    This protection applies to all drivers authorised on the rental agreement.
    If the car is driven by someone not mentioned in the rental agreement, the main driver will be responsible for the payment of all damages incurred.

SCDW Plus (Super Collision Damage Waiver Plus):

  • If you take out SCDW Plus insurance before you picking up the car, we will eliminate your liability for:
    – Damage fees to the external or mechanical components of the rental, including:
    Body, roof, underbody;
    Windshields, windows, rear glasses, interior mirrors and exterior mirrors;
    Wheels, tires, rims, engine, clutch, battery, locks.
  • SCDW Plus insurance does not eliminate liability for:

    – Repairs, roadside assistance or other unapproved service;
    – Cleaning fees or damage to the interior of the vehicle (unless caused by a collision);
    – Damage/loss of baby seats/Booster seat, GPS devices and other “extra” equipment;
    – Vehicle keys;
    – Fuel error;
    – Damage caused by trees or bushes due to negligent driving;

    – Accidents caused by negligence.

    Negligence is not covered by insurance.

    If you take out our SCDW Plus insurance, ANARENT CARS, LDA. will block your credit card with a deposit for fuel and tolls when you pick up the car.

    Coverage valid if you comply with the terms of the rental agreement.

PAI (Personal Accident Insurance):

  • In the event of an accident, covers driver/passenger;
  • Maximum amounts:
    €1 500,00 in case of illness or hospitalization
    €15 000,00 in case of death or disability.

This coverage is valid only if you comply with the terms of the rental agreement.

In the case of an accident contact ANARENT CARS LDA and the police as a police report is mandatory.

Important information:

Fuel policy: The car must be returned with the same level of fuel as the delivery, as mentioned in the rental contract. All our cars run on 95/98 petrol (E5/E10).

Cancellation policy: If cancelled up to 48 hours before the rental start, no fee will be charged. Cancellations after 48 hours before the rental start, non-refundable deposit. Please let us know in advance.

No show: When the Renter fails to collect a vehicle and the reservation is not cancelled in advance, the deposit will not be refunded.

Extra cleaning of the vehicle: The vehicle must be returned clean if the interior is sandy, muddy, dirty, stained or with a bad smell of tobacco or other – €30,00 (maximum €150,00) (Tobacco €150,00).

Motorway: Our cars are equipped with transponder. If you wish to use the motorway or car parks with this payment system, you must request this device, at a daily cost of €1,85 (maximum €18,50). Tolls and car parks will later be charged to your credit card. If you do not request the device and use the motorway or car parks with this payment method, you will incur a fee of €20,00 to activate the device plus the cost of tolls and car parks.

Tolls – The highways in Portugal have two payment systems:

  • Electronic – The lanes with exclusively automatic tolls are signaled in advance, with one of the following
    signs on the right.
  • Toll booths – Traditional tolls, with payment at the employee or through an automatic payment machine.

When collect the car, ask for information on how the tolls work.

Documents – When you receive the car, please make sure where the documents are located. If the client loses or doesn’t have the car documents upon car return, we will charge €100,00(one hundred euros) to obtain new documents.

Seat belt – The driver and passengers should wear seat belts, wherever they are seated in the car.

Accident – In the event of an accident, it is mandatory to call the authorities and always fill in the European Accident Statement (D.A.A.A.A.) – There is a translation in the car documents folder to assist in filling in.

A police report and the payment of an administration fee of €100,00 (one hundred euros) will be required (the amount being higher if more than two cars are involved)

If the driver is under the influence of alcohol and / or narcotics, he will be required to pay the full costs of any damage incurred.

Breakdown – In case of breakdown, it is mandatory to call ANARENT CARS, LDA. to report the breakdown.

Negligence: Any damage done by negligence (clutch burnt out, driving off road, parking on high kerbs, lost or damaged key, fuel error etc.) will be charged to the customer for the full cost of repair. Negligence is not covered.

Traffic fines – In the event that the Lessor is notified, as a result of an administrative offence or illegal conduct committed by the Lessee, solely for the purpose of identifying the same, the Lessor undertakes to pay, as administrative costs, the amount of €20.00 (Twenty Euros) for the information provided to those entities.

Fuel Error – In case of fuel error, the driver is responsible for repairing the vehicle and replacing a fuel tank.

Roadside Assistance – Available 24 hours.

Lost keys – If you lose your car key, a replacement cost will be charged.

Cleaning – Charges will apply if the car is collected dirty (If the interior is sandy, muddy, dirty, stained or has a bad smell of tobacco or other).
Please be aware that all cars have a no smoking policy.

Price Calculation – Prices are calculated based on the location, time and date of pick-up and return, which has been agreed upon prior to the start of the rental. If you pick up the car a little later or return it earlier, you will not receive a refund for unused time.

1 day rental – 1 day rental is 24 hours, any fraction of the day will be considered an extra day.

Flight data – If arriving by plane, please tell us your flight number (ideally at least 3 days before picking up your car).

In case of accident or breakdown assistance, contact ANARENT CARS, LDA.

– Advices:

  • Do not leave inside the car: sunglasses, wallets, cameras, GPS or any other valuables.
  • All traffic fines, payment of parking fees and tolls are the responsibility of the driver.
  • The driver must confirm any damage to the car at the beginning of the rental.
  • Damages not confirmed upon delivery and seen upon collection will be charged.
  • Please respect the speed limits:
    Inside locality – 50km/h;
    Out of town – 90km/h;

    Motorway – 120km/h.
    Note: Pay attention to speed control cameras.
