1. Included in the Rental Price

For 1-day rentals: 250 km included

2. Driver Requirements and Necessary Documents
Driver’s age: Between 24 and 75 years old. (Young Driver Surcharge: ages between 21 and 23, inclusive, €5 per day up to a maximum of €50).
Minimum Experience: It is not possible to rent vehicles to drivers under 21 and with less than two years of driving experience.
Documents: Valid Passport or ID Card.
Driving Licence: Valid in Portugal.
Credit Card: It is mandatory to present a card in the booking holder’s name. Accepted cards: MasterCard or Visa.
Please note: We do not accept American Express cards, virtual credit cards, cards presented on mobile phone apps, prepaid or top-up cards (Revolut, among others).
3. Bookings, Payments and Cancellations
Advance Notice: Bookings must be made at least two (2) days in advance.
Booking Deposit: In the event of a booking, a deposit of 15% of the rental price will be requested.
Payments: Payment is made upon vehicle delivery, in cash or by credit card (MasterCard/Visa).
Security Deposit: ANARENT CARS, LDA. reserves the right to request a security deposit at any time, the amount of which varies according to the vehicle group.
Cancellation Policy:
Up to 48 hours before the start of the rental: no fee will be charged.
Less than 48 hours before the start of the rental: the 15% deposit is non-refundable.
Please always notify us in advance.
No Show: When the customer does not collect the vehicle and the booking is not cancelled in advance, the deposit will not be refunded.
Early Return: There are no refunds for early returns.
4. Rental Policies and Vehicle Conditions
Fuel Policy: The car must be returned with the same fuel level as it was delivered. Our cars use Petrol 95/98 (E5/E10). If fuel is missing, the missing amount applies plus a refuelling fee (from €10).
Extra Vehicle Cleaning: The vehicle must be returned clean. If the interior is sandy, muddy, dirty, stained, or has a bad smell of tobacco or other odours, a fee of €30.00 to €150.00 will be charged. (Tobacco Smell: €150.00).
5. Via Verde (Tolls and Parking)
Our vehicles are equipped with a Via Verde transponder. Consumption will later be charged to your credit card:
Motorways: If you intend to use motorways, you must request the device for a fixed cost of €18.50 per rental (+ toll amount).
Car Parks: If you intend to use car parks with automatic payment, you must request the device at a daily cost of €1.85, up to a maximum limit of €18.50 (+ parking amount).
6. Insurances and Excesses
Excesses and Basic Liability (CDW): In the event of damage or an accident involving the rented vehicle, the maximum amount to pay will be up to the excess limit stipulated in the rental contract. This coverage is valid as long as all terms of the contract are met and applies to all authorised drivers.
Group A – C: Excess of €900
Group D: Excess of €1250
Group C1 – E – F – F1: Excess of €1500
Group G: Excess of €2000
(Please note: The extra insurances presented below are unavailable for young drivers and for 1 or 2-day rentals. Before purchasing them, check your travel insurance, which may offer equivalent coverages).
SCDW (Super Collision Damage Waiver)
Daily Price: Group A-C (€8) | Group D (€10) | Group C1-F-F1 (€13) | Group G (€20)
What it is: Reduces the driver’s liability if the rented car is damaged, limiting the legal obligation to pay for the repair. Instead of the full cost, the driver is responsible for the first portion (excess).
Eliminates liability for: Bodywork damage, Undercarriage, and Roof.
Does not eliminate liability for: Windscreen, windows, rear window, interior/exterior mirrors, wheels, tyres, rims, and locks.
(Please note: Negligence is not covered.)
SCDW Plus (Super Collision Damage Waiver Plus)
Daily Price: Group A-C (€11) | Group D (€13) | Group C1-F-F1 (€16) | Group G (€23)
What it is: Completely eliminates your liability for damage to the external components of the vehicle (€0 Excess). When collecting the vehicle with this insurance, we will only block a deposit on your credit card for fuel, cleaning, and tolls.
Eliminates liability for: Bodywork, roof, undercarriage, windscreen, windows, rear window, interior/exterior mirrors, wheels, tyres, rims, engine, battery, and locks.
(Please note: Negligence is not covered.)
PAI (Personal Accident Insurance)
Daily Price: €4 (For all groups)
What it is: In the event of an accident, it covers the driver and passenger. Maximum amounts: €1,500.00 (illness/hospitalisation) and €15,000.00 (death/disability).
Conditions: Valid only if the terms of the contract are met. In the event of an accident, it is mandatory to contact ANARENT CARS, LDA and the police, and the presentation of the police report is mandatory.
General Insurance Exclusions None of our insurances eliminate liability regarding:
Unauthorised repairs, roadside assistance, or other unapproved services;
Cleaning fees or damage to the interior of the vehicle (unless caused by a collision);
Personal belongings, damage/loss of “extra” equipment (child seats, GPS, etc.);
Vehicle keys;
Putting in the wrong fuel;
Off-road driving;
Damage caused by trees/shrubs or accidents resulting from negligent driving.
7. Extras and Additional Fees
Out of hours (18:00 – 09:00): From €30
Airport Fee: €20 per rental
One-way (Pick-up in one location and drop-off in another): From €30
Spain Insurance: €50 per rental (Includes 1000 km; the excess will be charged if not authorised)
Additional driver: €20 per rental
Young driver (21-23 years old): €5 per day (Max. €50)
Baby seat / Booster seat: €5 per day (Max. €50)
GPS: €5 per day (Max. €50)
Via Verde (Transponder): Car parks: €1.85 per day (Max. €18.50) + parking cost
Via Verde (Transponder): Motorways €18.50 per rental (Fixed) + toll costs
Extra vehicle cleaning: €30 (Max. €150) / Tobacco: €150
Kilometres not included: €0.45 per km (Max. €100)
Refuelling fee: From €10 (added to the cost of the missing fuel)
